This was a first year undergraduate module for which I taught seminars in Literature and Time as part of the Allot Graduate Scholarship. This module introduces students to the breadth of English Literature throughout time, from The Odyssey, Genesis and Sir Orfeo, to Pope's 'The Rape of the Lock' and Blake's The Marriage of Heaven and Hell, right up to Graham Swift's Waterland. This course emphasises the influence of older texts on newer works, the question of the relationship between history and fiction, and the transformations of themes such as belonging, the unreliability of human knowledge and the nature and limits of authority. Assessment for this module included written assignments and exams.
